Since this forum was started, I have had several people ask me where I get information on reptile/amphibian care. I have been keeping reptiles for about 10 years, over that time I have come to trust several websites and their content.
Firstly, Kingsnake.com. This site is the most comprehensive site dedicated to reptiles and amphibians that I have ever seen. From FAQ's to forums to schedule dates for herp shows, this site is amazing. The community is very friendly, and since it is so large, questions very rarely go unanswered. The breeder listing is also very impressive if you wish to avoid buying your herp at a local pet store. http://www.kingsnake.com
Second is “The Basking Spot”. This is a collection of care sheets, also known as FAQ's, about the most common reptiles in the industry. They are usually easy to read and give concise information without “dumbing it down”. http://www.baskingspot.com/
Last but not least is Melissa Kaplan. If you ever run across one of her FAQ's or articles know that it is well-written and researched. I literally have her entire website saved on my harddrive in case she ever takes it down. She discusses topics ranging from general care and diseases to how to pick out a reptile that will work for your life. She also is one of the first sites I recommend to a person who has never had a reptile before and may not know what all goes into having a herp. Also, if you are interested in proper iguana care, this is the place that you need to start reading. http://www.anapsid.org/
Please feel free to add to this list any sites that I might have missed....
