I’ve a strange story.
Awhile back I bought two orange & white Arandas and a brown goldfish that looked like an Aranda. I bought them for the purpose of controlling the snail population.
They got bigger and were messy and tearing up all my plants. So I temporarily moved them to a 10 gallon tank until I could get rid of them. Two weeks ago I gave them to a LFS.
I drained the tank and took it outside to clean. I used a garden hose aimed into the gravel to really clean out all of the sludge.
Then I cleaned the glass and put some aged water in. One evening I turned on the light and saw four baby fish about ¼” long. I called the wife in to verify and she saw them also.

I started feed baby brine shrimp but three of them died. Now I have only one and it’s 5/8” long. The body is somewhat clear
( I can see the orange brine shrimp in it’s belly).
And the tail only has the horizontal fin developed so far.

I can’t believe that the eggs could have survived the cold chlorinated water out of the hose like that especially when I was using a hose sprayer to really stir the gravel.

Regards

Charles
