Has anyone used Seachem Stability?

Does it help cycle a FW Aquarium? Is it worth it or just a waste of money?

Is it one of those things that only works if you keep adding it- or will it really cycle the aquarium faster and I won't be dependant on it thereafter?

Any opinions? Looks a lot cheaper than BioSpira.

Thanks!

I'm not after nor expecting an "immediate cycle" but if $10 cuts a week off cycling time it may save myself and my kids from going crazy from looking at a fishless aquarium! ;)

I used to to get past the 'nitrite' phase.

seemed to cut it by a week or so

I put 18 quarter to half dollar sized angels in a new 15 gallon with an UG filter and didn't lose any with the stability. I didn't try a control without the product but something tells me I wouldn't have been as successful. I don't know if it cut any time off the cycling but I didn't lose any fish. Since then I have used it with all my new tanks.

I used SuperBac, my LFS recommended it. Between that and the plants I never saw any ammonia or nitrites at all. And it wasn't even that heavily planted in the beginning. I also didn't get nitrates right away, but they're not usually high anyway, and I think that was because of the plants.

Thanks... I'll give it a try then... My ammonia peak hasn't come to an end yet- so I've got AT LEAST 2 to 3 more weeks before I'm cycled I'm guessing. (about 10 days in currently)

If for $10 or $11 I can cut this down a week it'll definately be worth it.

I don't have that much to lose...

Thank you.

I shall keep you updated! Let you know how long it takes... etc. Can't pick any up until tomorrow... but we'll see how quick it works! I'll bump this thread when my cycle is complete.

Sunday this week will be 2 weeks to the day that cycling began. So I'm starting this a little latish.

I wonder if running activated carbon in my filter is a bad idea with this product.
