About 3 months ago, I ran across an ad on Craigslist for 4 aquariums (55gal, 3-29gals), numerous filters and heaters, and a bunch of decor and lights for $40. My wife let me buy it and when I picked everything up from the guy he had way more stuff he gave me. It was a GREAT buy! We decided just to set up the 55gal in our bedroom and 2 of the 29gals in our kids rooms. I have researched so much on cichlids in these past 3 months. I love cichlids, and believe I am doing a pretty good job at keeping them alive and happy.
About a week after buying bulk lot I ended up with about 15 fish altogether in the 3 tanks. All types of cichlids and in my daughters room a community tank. After that week I bought an 80 gal tank and built my own stand for in that matches our dining room. It looks wonderful.
The only problem now that I have is that I CANNOT STOP BUYING fish! Every time I am out and about I want to go to the pet store. Sometimes, I take an hour drive to a fish place that has tons of unique cichlids. My wife is starting to get pissed because I am spending so much money on fish.
So, my thing now is looking for specific fish to fill my 80 gal tank for a beautiful conversation piece in our dining room. I am looking for any internet sites that have good deals and beautiful cichlids!! I have found a lot of sites, but the more the merrier.. ANY HELP? Looking for low cost shipping as well! And, I am most interested in Pundamilia (Crimson Tide and Anchor or Ruti Islands) & Cynotilapia (ALL OF THEM!) Thanks to all who reply!!
