I ordered some Eco complete yesterday for plants. What kind of products will I need to keep the substrate producing minerals for plants?

Eco-Complete is an inert substrate, meaning it carries no beneficial nutrients, but like most planted substrates it's able to capture nutrients from the water column, and store them then release the nutrient to the plants. I would go with the SeaChem Flourish line of fertilizer products, comprehensive, nitrate, phosphate, etc.........

I personally don't like eco-complete, but that's just me. I prefer to go with mineralized topsoil (MTS) and mix in special kitty all natural cat litter into the soil because it acts just like planted substrates, but sometimes I'll go with SeaChem Flourite planted substrate, but they all act in the same manner as they're able to absorb nutrients, and then release them at a later time.

There is also a product called safetsorb... You can get it a tractor supply store for very cheap... It's very high in cec rating... I'm testing it out now in a small co2 injected aquarium
