Hello, I'm new obviously, and after months of pleasurable fish research I decided it was time I joined and actual forum or two.

Last time I checked I was 23, and have been married to my husband three years in may. I just got a new job, directing Seniors in a residential home for the active treatment and learning of people with developmental disabilities. I love working there. I love working with and helping people. I also just started a job working with Vector Marketing selling Cutco, trying to make ends meet after loosing my last job.

I finally got an aquarium after my husband's pleading for a fish tank. We had gotten a Comet from a Valentines dance last year. My Husband was tired of the inadiquatte housing we had for him and was using it as an excuse to get a large aquarium which he had always wanted. I wasn't against this, however, my reply usually was, "It's just not in the budget right now."

I was finally able to locate a nice used aquarium and now I'm accused of taking over the project. My husband was satesfied with Just four fish in our 45g, but I though it was boring and there were more fun things to do. Recently with some stresses and loss of a job, I must admit I did get a little obsessed......

So to the Details,

I have an approxamately 45g subtropical planted tank, and a 2 liter, outside hanging tank.

Common temp right now: 72f sometimes. preffered range or 68-75 sometimes 66/65 in winter.

Filter: I have of what I call pump waterfall filters. (I forget names)

one a tetra, biobag whisper,(35gallon I think) and
one a biowheel Marineland 55 gallon.
I've got two, why not use them, especially when adding the new fishes?

Heater: I have a little adjustable heater 100 w i think Just to help temp control

airflow: a little pump which runs an air wand and the flow for my hang on tank.

substrate: river pebbles and like bio substrate or something.

layout: some driftwook hidesouts, rocks/caves & tunnels, tiki head with balding java hair... a little castle and lighthouse. ruin columns and an anubias on lava rock....

Plants: can't remember all the other plants but at least moderate planting and cover.

RIP/Awol: Since Setup we've had a few casualties

Dojo (dojo)
Wiggles (dojo)
Mr. Noodle (dojo)

Hello and welcome!!!

Sounds like you have your plate full. LOVE the names you have for your critters! :D

My husband would never have had to push for me to get a tank..lol. It's the opposite here. He throws a fit at the thought of me setting up another aquarium again! Then comes home Friday to me placing a piece of driftwood into my QT tank on the kitchen counter. I had to you see, it was covered in Angel eggs from a friends tank!! So today I am playing nervous mother hen to dozens and dozens of little angel "wigglers" lol

We have a 125g lightly planted community tank, 10 g. QT tank with Angel wigglers :D, 6 house-cats (Sammy, Suzy, Chucky, Rusty, Spanky, and our newest addition a gorgeous persian mixed grey girl named Dany: all rescues, most with issues), A miniature pinscher (Jenny: rescue), a senegal parrot (Jakers: Rescue) and...2 human kids. lol I'm a SAHM so plenty of time to tend all the above critters including the kids.

Just remember, it seems one tank leads to another especially when fish outgrow what you have. lol

Thanks For the welcome!!! :) Darn! I just remember I forgot four fish.... Fuli & Kuli- two black Kuli loaches, and Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum- Two little stripy Kuli's :)

I'm in trouble now with my husband frequently. He keeps telling me to stop meessing with the tank and to keep my Hands out of it. "How would you like it if a hand reached into our house and rearranged your furniture because they didn't like it?" I get in trouble and I'm grounded from buying any new fish stuff for another week.

What I really want so much is some Aegla. I love invertebrates. I keep my eyes out for interesting snails, and shrimp but I really really want some Aegla!!!!
