Other than fish, I have my dog named Dakota. He is a golden retriever who is 10 years old. He was actually "extra large" most of his life until a year or two ago he went from 105lbs to changing from 78-85lbs depending on season. (he goes on more walks in the summer). It is amazing that he can still jump off of his rear legs a good foot off the ground and all since he is getting to the end of his life. He has a few fatty tumors, but we had the ones that got in the way or could cause pain removed a year or so ago. Most of the time he seems to just sleep all day, but I can usually get him excited once or twice a day and when that happens he can usually play longer than I can. (mostly because I get tired of grabbing the slobber covered toy). He is in much better shape than my cousin's dog (they practically grew up together) who happens to be a golden that is a few months older than him. But, my cousin's dog was always healthier than my dog until recently. He has been having trouble getting up, while my dog has no trouble at all when he actually wants to get up. If you make him move it takes a while but if he is excited or just wants to move on his own, it doesnt take long.
I have had 2 hamsters as well, but they died 2-3 years ago. It was pretty cool, I rigged up a reed switch and a magnet by his wheel and I could calculate how far he ran each night. I dont remember how far he went normally. He had this things.

one night he figured out how to twist the top to the dome off. It fell on the floor and failed to wake me up only a few feet away from my head. But somehow it woke my mom up and she made my dad go find out what it was. My dad woke me up and made me put the dome back on. He was scared of getting bit by the hamster. I had never been bit once by it. It was kind of funny, I woke up and looked over at him, just sitting there in his dome starring at me. Didnt even try to get out. But managed to cram the thing full of bedding. Over a few months he got fat and then had trouble fitting through the tubes connecting his multiple cages together. Then after a few nights of not getting woken up by the wheel spinning I decided to check up on him. He didnt like being disturbed during the day, but didnt seem to mind at night since they are nocturnal. I thought the food and water were going down, but they must have stayed the same. I found him dead in his house thing. He was the biggest one at the store to begin with, maybe he was old when I got him. Idk, but there wasnt anything that I could think of that I would have done to kill him. Sad to let him go, but I didnt mind not spending $ on bedding and listening to my mom complain about the smell in my room no matter how often I changed the bedding. I did like selling the stuff on craigslist for a nice little profit. My friend sold me the first cage for $5 (think I gave him $10 though) and that included that really nice quiet wheel. My mom bought a second cage at goodwill, I bought misc tubing and a good water bottle (the kind with a spring in it) and a few other things to pamper him for like $30 total. Sold everything for $50. It sold within a day! I had the best deal around, everything was in good condition and I had some nice stuff with it. Well, within a day of listing it. I cleaned it all for like 2 hours to make sure it was really clean. Then put it in a big bin in our basement for a couple months. Found it a few months latter and sold it.
Man, I feel sorry for anyone who actually bothered to read all of that.
OH, and a little brother, but dont even get me started on him.
