I was just wondering if there are any plants that would survive in a tank with goldfish. I have a 30 gallon tank with a good filter (though I'm planning to upgrade the filter soon) and I have gravel as the substrate (natural colors, not dyed). There is a fantail, about 3", and 2 comets, about 3" each, living in the tank though the comets are supposed to be rehomed to a friend with a bigger setup because I rescued them from a 1 gallon hex tank and I know they need more than 30 gallons. The temperature in the tank is around 20-22 degrees celsius (68-72 fahrenheit). I will have to check the details of the light later as I'm not really sure of it offhand. I would like to know how much trouble it would be to turn this into a planted tank... would the goldfish eat the plants? Are there any plants that they won't eat? Would the plants survive in that temperature range? Any help/advice would be appreciated.
