Or move your cycled filter to the new tank...... it will help clear up any more nitrites present..... and simply put in back in the 20g when you need it. This is the reason I have two filters on most tanks...... lots of options!

Ill have to set something up to keep the flow down, may be too much with two filters. Good idea though

Pre-filter with sponge on the intake...... finer sponge will reduce the intake flow..... especially when it gets dirty.
