Anyone used this ebay seller of White fiji live sand?

looks ok.. doesn't look live in the pic though lol

I've never used it, but why not go with some caribsea Fiji pink or something similar? I guess I don't see the benefit of live sand lol. I used a 40 lb bag in my 60 and it covered it nicely. Any reason why you want to go with that?

Well I have nothing against caribsea I've used it before, I think caribsea would end up costing more $20ish for 20lbs at the lfs plus tax. Looks are my only reason for looking at the eBay stuff.

well your looking at 70 bucks including shipping, how many lbs are you looking to get? The sand in the pic almost looks like the oolitic sand that caribsea has, the real fine grain sand, i think they say its sugar sized. Im not sure if that would be good stuff to go with if it is that size.

I would need approx 55lbs for a 2" bed, I linked 90 lbs but ithink they had 65 deal to, I'll look into the grainule size of this stuff, if it is fine I'll find somthing else.

I think most of there arag was around the same price point $1+ a pound, most shops around here I've been to lately seem to charge a premimum for substrate, I saw petsmart actually had some arag cheap but it was super chunky stuff. Looked at more caribsea stuff online they have some indo pacific black that looks similar to the ebay stuff but bigger grains I think. I'll see if I can locate any in a LFS not paying shipping on that and I dont think anyones going to give free shipping on 3 20lb bags.

My only concern about the ebay sand is that the majority of it looks pretty fine in grain size which may cause drifting or sand constantly up in the water column. Also if you intend to have burrowing fish/shrimp, etc, you want a little lager grains mixed in to help them build and keep their burrows open. Sounds like good sand though.
