Haustrum babies! Hooray!

Thanks everyone! This morning I broke the largest clutch in half to help the babies in the middle get out and a shower of little shells fell to the bottom of the tank. They all righted themselves immediately and climbed to the waterline as most hatchlings do. I will be setting up the 2.5 gallon for them very soon.

Haustrum babies are very active after hatching, much more so than brigs. Interesting.

Weird.

Warning: ridiculous cuteness!

A few more photos of the babies. They're definitely bigger and darker now. I'm starting to see size differences.

The little round end of a cucumber that I dropped in to feed them is now half-gone, and I was starting to rack my brain. What to feed all these little piggies? The salvinia in my 10 gallon is growing like weeds, though, and I dropped some of that in. It was an instant hit.

They are now about the size of this O. The littlest ones are the size of this o.
