55g Planted tank (The Start)

Why is it that every time I see the initials "BK", I want a Whopper Jr?

:D

Nice. And you were telling me I shouldn't rescape. I really like the planted arch... someting that has been floating around in my head in a different form for some time now. I like the BK signature group of plants and wood on the left... very nice as always. Nice rocks too... what kind are they? The wood to the right is a nice touch but up against the glass will mean moving it to clean the glass. Overall a very nice start and good balance of wood, rocks, plants and color.

nice scaping. i like what you did in the middle
Thanks BrkD.
I wanted the effect of the wood creeping from left to right like a snake (if you look closely at before the planting it looks like a dargon lol) The arch has flame moss on it so hopefully when it grows in it will create a nice effect

Very x1000 NICE:dance:LOL
Absolutely beautiful!
That tank is gorgeous!
Looking good BK. It should grow in really well.
Thanks guys. In the future i hope to replace some of the stems in the back with perhaps some other plants i havent tried yet. Good way to experiment. (and ofcourse if i get my hands on more Blyxa aubertii its going in there asap!! :))

Thanks Q, i was really waiting for your post since the other day we spoke about redoing tanks. Probably the main difference between your great 75 and my old 55 is that the plant order worked in yours, in mine it was just a big mess. I threw out literally 150+ stems of rotala since i didnt want to deal with picking through it and finding good stems.. In yours each stem is spaced out just right so you get a nice view of everything.
Thanks about the arch, i want to see how it works out with the fish.. hope they chase each other in circles thought it lol.. What idea did you have with it??
LoL at the "bk signature group of plants" which plants are these??
I agree with you about wood on the right but will have to see what happens over time, for now i could get in there with a sponge since space between it and glass is that small.. But if it becomes a pain then ill be sure to move it more away.
Well lets hope it comes out as clean as your tanks Q and thanks again for comments.

I was refering to the whole grouping of the wood and plants together on the right. The look of wood branching up and out with the plants growing in between is a nice look I'v seen you do before and which I've seen in other tanks that you have had a virtual hand in.

The arch I have invisioned is a 3/4 circle of wood which 1/4 seems buried. The wood is thick at the base and tapers to the top and at the top of the circle is about a 1/8 circle break with eroded ends. The whole arch would be covered in flame moss and fissendens.

Kinda like this.
