Mafia #51 - Mafia Citizens - The Play

It's not that, just the way you worded it made it seem like coler should just be talking about himself, which would be an odd way to play this game. And your reaction to his simple question was a little over-the-top, for lack of a better description.

Wow.. I stepped away for a short while and there's two more pages than before. Glad to see we're warming up a little. :thm:

On Red Severum... Dude, you're all over the place. You start out as Mr. Random on us trying to lynch me in your very first post, barely an hour into this game. Most people didn't even know the thread existed yet at that point. Yet you decided right off that bat that you need to try this playing it safe so nobody will challenge you later over you're voting. What could you possibly be hiding so fast??? The only info you had to work with that early in the game was the role assignment JL just sent you by private message.

It'll be interesting to see which direction you pick once your rebel buddies get a chance to coach you along a little better.

JL you have got a knack for creating interesting games ill give you that. I do have a question.

If protection is successful on a lynch will it be announced whose protection was used?

Also a suggestion. with Bala's ability to turn a player, if don/wiseguy is changed to rebel they shouldn't be able to inform the other rebels what they know. With the wise guys/don unable to communicate it's an unfair advantage.

That's all i got for now, post more in morning.

Good question to ask... but the answer BKW gets is a real concern.

Nope, that way when the player comes back, there will still be a mystery. That is why I added the Bala protection each night also.

Hold on a second. That isn't actually true. If the rebels who are communicating with each other decide to bestow protection on a player (in secret) who then comes back a day later, then the rebels are the only ones who will know REBEL protection was offered in the first place. The wiseguys won't know about this and neither will the townies.

It won't matter to the rest of us whether Bala was involved or not because we won't know who the rebels were protecting. So the rebel communicating team benefits from some information they get confirmed, while the rest of us are left in the dark about it. It's not a "mystery" to them at all.

There won't be any douible agents.

The bala will use the blue mist to take care of any unfair advantages.

JL, how is blue mist going to disguise the identity of a returning playing who comes back from the dead and suddenly starts posting again? We're still going to see that person posting again using the same username as before, right?

Well I see basically nobody wants to actually play the game.

Anyway JL Can you post a nightfall in GMT as well - I have a miserable habit of UD because of getting it wrong.

Coler, do you seriously expect us to believe you've been at this site for this long and played in however many mafia games before but you still need someone to help you calculate the time difference? Who are you trying to fool with that?

LOL. I didn't even relate the synonym w/u. I'm wondering if I should now, hmmmm.

Oh poor, poor RB.<------(Remove and insert violin playing emote)

I predict that if a person gets saved by bala they will still be in hot water as the insurgents (rebels) and at least one of the other team will think them likely turned. I'm guessing that w/17 players, there are 3-4 rebels and 2-3 wise guys and a don. That would leave around 9 regular citizens.

Blue text -- Exactly the point I just made earlier. Again, the rebels get verification information that the rest of us won't have. How does this not give them even more of an advantage than they already get simply because they're allowed to talk to each other throughout the whole game?

Red text -- Planting.. how did you come up with these numbers? JL has told us absolutely nothing for us to estimate how many players got what kind of assignments in any quantitative terms.

I vote to lynch Maverick

Just because its ironic that his name is a synonym for rebel and I could see JL making him one for that reason.

OMG.. that's so funny, Ice. Lynching someone over a coincidental username? This has to be the best (useless) random vote I could imagine.

Normally I don't see eye-to-eye with Ice right off the bat, but I tend to agree with statement.

Just one..last game. It was the first game for the both of them. They were on separate teams (TRS - innocent, Kashta - scum), so the fact that Kashta is implying that they're just 2 ol' mafia buddies sharing yuks when TRS voted for her (and she defended, albeit weakly) seems odd.

There you go, Madcrawdad... that's the alias "Wing Nut" I got to know the last time around. Go back and read my post again. I was laughing at Red Severum for making a very lame move which is (sadly) very much his style... which he has already display quite thoroughly in the many pages of posting that's hit this thread since that point in the game. And here, you've deliberately twisted my reply to make me appear scummy to all the townspeople. You used the exact same approach in the last game on something by adding a little twist that you knew was untrue to deliberately mislead people. Very subtle game play... but very smooth and very suspicious.

It's always fun to watch people swinging at butterflies.

BKW... why the vote for RB? I realize someone has to get it, but how did you make this choice. On the same note, dawg why Ice?

Good question.

ok, reading over things today, refreshing to see some vets out there.... my initial knee jerk reaction /suspicion was on Kash for her game style change. Last game, she was very wordy, this game, not so much. Is it a drastic change because she knows she can't be the same way or else, be recognized on the spot... I don't know.... but worth the though, I think...

:silly:

then comes Red.... maybe Red, you should have gone and investigated the past games before you shot all this trash... Coler was once a versed member of the Mafia games.... yes, wasn't in the 1 game you played but is no where near a newbie. Something more makes me wonder about you..... I am confused by your "unvote".... care to explain that?

Until I am satisfied by a response if any, I vote to lynch The Red Severum

Nice try DD.. but as you and most other people here know about me already, I only get longwinded when I've got something to say. None of us had anything to work with yet in the first few pages here and I'm not going to invent a whole lot of garbage just to make it look like I'm posting a lot.

Wow! this game sure took off on day one!! Lots of posts.. Not alot to go on as it is day one though..

Not sure why In RBs post It says I am EVIL in WHITE! and everything else is black.

Whats up with that?

Oh God no... please don't start another pointless 10 page debate on post edits and font color changes which serves no purpose other than to deflect our efforts to root out the scummy rebels.

I'm sure there's a lot more posted now in the time it's taken me to get these quotes together.. so I'll be back later tonight (I hope) to continue where I'm leaving off now.

agreed, never got that PM. If you look at the signup thread, I was complaining about not getting one, because I didn't see this thread.

and kash, there is your finger pointing self, god how much I didn't miss that. Does my style bother you because I was pointing the finger at you early, and getting people to open your eyes to your scummy playing? (this is rhetorical, don't comment about me being random blah blah blah).
Lets get some different people posting!

I will post some of my thoughts, but I am still pretty lost at this point.

TRS votes early and then changes his vote again. Justifies going after Kash because of the previous game. Justifies vote for Coler because Coler grills him about the early vote. Are we really supposed to believe you are just voting for people who have done you wrong? Being coached by someone maybe?

I picked up on that too Jpappy. Kash forgot some of us didn't recieve a pm. Interesting...

As I said in my previous post...it is a somewhat random vote. Not totally random because Ice almost always seems to be one of the players on my list of suspects.

Do you have any thoughts of your own?

Not so much just yet. We've got a ton of early, seemingly random votes, some vote switching, and quite a bit of suspicion around TRS. Most of the rest seems to be conjecture based on past games and "gut feelings". I don't really know what to think just now, but as the posts seem to be picking up, I'm hoping something to work with comes out soon.

My guess is that kashta is a PR as she forgot that not everyone got a PM from JL with their role. Doesn't help much but I'm thinking for now that it puts her towards the "not a citizen" side.

This is an interesting point.

Yup that's what i was thinking too. There's a good chance she's rebel scum(im not letting this name go lol ).

If the Rebels hit the Don one the wiseguys dies, but if the Don is lynched a wiseguy will be promoted to Don.

If she is the don and lynched one of the wgs will be placed in her spot, so really the only thing the town looses is a wg, maybe we loose the mafia protection.

If a player is protected by both wiseguy and rebels then there will be no protection (no notice will be given). If the rebels protect the Don or a wiseguy there will be no protection.

JL, does this mean the mafia protection will always work on the a wg, since witness protection will fail on a don/wg? or does a rebel selecting the don/wg cancel out all protection?

I would suggest putting mafia protection on Kash to cancel out rebel protection, just in case.

Either way i think a vote on Kash makes sense right now.

I unvote rb

and vote to lynch kash
