Anyone else ride Motorcycles?

When I no longer have small children so dependent upon me for their survival (aka nursing baby)....I plan to ride this:

That is after I replace every gasket in it and redo the motor from sitting in my basement collecting dust. It's so bad to let machinery set. I just don't know anyone that I know and trust enough to loan it out.

not a good picture (taken at night)

Nice bikes.
I'd love to get a bike, i want a triumph daytona 955i for the week days and a harley davidson fat boy for the weekends. The wife says i have to wait for the kids get older though, i might just get one and keep at work with out her knowing :evil_lol:

Doesn't everyone ride??
this is my 03 VTX 1800

I have added the Vance & Hines pipes, Hypercharger, and a power commander with the accellerator pump boost option.
Had it dyno'd and custom mapped....this thing is wicked fast.. looks like a sleeper, but I can pick the front tire up about 18" in second gear, and bury the speedo soon thereafter....

I used to ride until I got slammed from the side/rear from a guy not looking while changing lanes on the freeway. I flew forward and rolled for about 15 meters, then almost got hit by the car behind me going 60. I don't think I'm gonna ride unless I get out of California... too many reckless and impatient drivers. :thud:

I used to ride a gsxr750 and a katana. I'll probably get another gsxr if I ever do end up riding again though.

I would love to have a bike.
Gas is great, plus they look AMAZING.

Only thing I'm afraid of is what chaser said, idiots not paying attention.

Not willing to look super cool and save a lot of money if it means me dying.
I'll think about it more haha.

Again, rad bikes.

trchaser, I'm glad you survived your accident! It's pretty sobering when you look down and see your legs....they are your fenders! There is so little protection from you and the careless auto drivers out there. It's why I won't ride right now - not while I have such young children depending upon me. (I had a much more wild attitude before I had another body and soul relying on my care.)

For all of you who have the wind in your face, may you be blessed and watched over and may you always be seen and respected on the road!

Another VTX1800? Woot!

Nice man. same color too lol.

Yeah, they are definitely a sleeper bike. 0-60 in just over 3.5 seconds? Killer. If your only racing stop light to stop light (or up to 60-70mph), you'll take most any sportbike out there cept the die hard 1000RR's, and of course the all out bikes like the busa and ZX14.

My friend on his BMW1200 inline 4 sporty was VERY surprised. Racing light to light, it was about 50/50 which he never thought I would even get the jump on him at all.

My last ride was a SV-1000 (V-twin sportbike) that did 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. Not mine, but I had the exact same model/color

When I turned to a cruiser, I knew that I had to get a power cruiser, cause going from 3 seconds 0-60 to a 5+ second 0-60 (average cruiser) would have been like pulling teeth.

Thank god for the VTX! I have looked at gettin other more sporty bikes, like the VFR for example, but couldn't rationalize it because many sportbikes like the VFR are SLOWER than the VTX.

The best is when you pull up to a squid on a GSXR 600 and he revs like he's tough $hit, and then the light turns green and he's eating cruiser dust! LOL.

Of course, thats all legal speeds. Once those bikes rev up, they will pass us. But then again, I rarely see triple digit numbers where they would woop our butts. I had the SV-1000 up to 140, and I had the VTX up to indicated 130... plenty fast enough for me.

One time (cause I'm younger still only 25) I was riding with a pack of sportbikes and we jumped on the concrete slab. They took off up to about 115-120 and let off the throttle, thinking they left me in the dust, but then I flew past them at 125 all lounged out giving them a thumbs up as they are all crunched up pretzel like.

They said it scarred the living daylights outta them when I passed them because of my psuedo loud pipes (with throttle Wide open) and because they never thought a cruiser could keep up with them.

Ah yeah...Anyway, nice bike man.
