My wife and I live in rural India and are complete newbies to the world of Freshwater aquariums. And as the McDonalds' motto goes...we're lovin' it!
I came across AC when scrounging the internet for information on freshwater aquariums.
We recently set up a 54 litre (~14 gallon) Freshwater Aquarium. It's a modest home to 2 marble angelfish, 2 silver angelfish, 2 orange-red mickey mouse platys, 2 blood-red swordtail platys, 2 silver dollars and 2 plecos.
Now I know what you're all thinking...this guy's really overstocked those poor fish. Yes. I confess that I probably am. Actually we got conned into buying them all at the same time, from an unscrupulous pet shop owner who took advantage of our ignorance at the time :mad2:.
We had no prior knowledge of aquariums. Now thanks to AC and other websites, we know better
Actually we've learnt a lot of what actually not to do since we set up the Aquarium by the hard way, at the cost of a pleco and lovely fantail goldfish. I'll be posting our experiences for others to learn from.
But all the same, we're having a ball with our aquarium and our fish. We are grateful to all the members on AC for all the great info that we got and because of which we were able to salvage all our remaining fish.:bowing:
