College...Worth the hassle?? Anyone in same situation??

I'd go with yes. Then again I had a 55 gal in a dorm with me. That's partially why my clown plecos are so special to me...they went to college with me and they are the only fish left from that community.

I wont live on capus for that one reason, my fish cannot come with me :(
I have a 90 gall and it aint going nowhere, plus I just got a dog.... so Im staying at home while I go to school.

I'm having some hazy memories... I think I had a fishtank in college... sounds familiar... I remember getting the siphon going... and then kept drinking because it was really beer in the tank... or something like that... what fish live in beer? hmmm... and there was always a worm at the bottom of the glass... no ...wait... was that a Kuhli loach... college... I was there once... I think I got a degree in something... beer... I think I had a fishtank in college... sounds familiar... I remember getting the siphon going...

How about a nano desktop tank

I've had a 3g, currently a 10g and a 60g all in college. I'm pre-med, which means I take hard classes and a lot of them (don't want to brag, just trying to make a point that I'm busy). I find that working on the fish tank is a nice break from homework. I never let my tanks suffer neglect. I use automatic feeders for long breaks, and since I'm an upperclassman I'm usually here most of the summer so they never go ignored.

It's a good conversation piece, and a good release from school stress that even works on rainy days. :) I think a 15g is totally manageable. When moving, lower the water as much as possible and put the tank on a sturdy board to carry it without stressing the seams.

EDIT: Use another person to move it, too. And go slow...wouldn't want to trip.

I am currently in college, am maintain a 10g and 55g at my off-campus house. I am taking 19 credits (above course load), a double major in music and art, meaning I have at least 10-15 hours of shooting/piano practice/printing outside of class, and working 20 hours a week- - - and I still make sure to do every other day water changes, and care for the fish in every possible way I can.

If there's a will, there's a way.

Like members have been saying, moving it, will be an absolute pain- if you are INCAPABLE of moving the tank safely on the regular basis that you described, don't go for it. However if you think you can do it in a proper manner, and most importantly are willing to take the proper measures and precautions of doing so, there is no reason why you can't have a tank (or two) in college.

In my opinion if you are having second thoughts then don't do it.

It's not too hard to move a 20 gal tank ...I guess it depends on how often it needs to move. For a tank that needs to be moved frequently, I'd go with a 5-10.
