Eheim classic 2213 vs Eheim ecco 2234

Hey all,

If both of these canisters were the same price and same condition, which one would you pick?. From what I understand, the ecco is easier to prime but don't you just fill the canister to prime the classic?

Also, this would be for a 10 gal setup which house a few guppies and few platty's plus some live plants. I will need one which I can control the output to a minimum so the fish aren't blowing around but also powerful enough so I can use it for a future 60 gal setup. I appreciate any help. Thanks guys
 
I have a eheim Classic and priming isn't hard. Hook up the intake side but leave output side unconnected to tank. Every valve closed. then open the 2 intake valves and take the output hose stick it in a bucket and open the valve, it should start pushing air out as it drains water out of your tank and into the cannister. Eventually it fills up and you get water out the hose. Let it run another 5 seconds to get out air bubbles. Close the valve connect it to the tank open up everything and turn on the canister, should be good to go, if it makes some noises that's normal as you can't get all the bubbles out, they will go away over time.

As for which is better I don't know, I just know priming is easy once you know what to do.
 
You cant control the output on the 2213. It may create too much water movement for a little 10 gallon and also be a bit underpowered for a 60g. Maybe a small hob for the 10g could then be combined with the 2213 and used for the big tank
