Help my BN seems to have a fungal infection

Just to add to before i mis-spoke my nitrites are 0 and my nitrates are 5 ppm. I switch these a lot on accident.

Someone probabaly needs to come up with a saying, like maybe "I before A keeps mistakes away... but both come after O" (LOL) or something so folks will remember that nitrItes is before nitrAtes in the nitrogen cycle and it's best to post the numbers in the same order, ammOnia>nitrItes>nitrAtes. It's a very common mistake which is why I asked you to double check.

Update.

Thanks a lot for the advise guys. Well the fungal infection seems to be going away on the BN most of his white fluffy spots are gone now. I ended up getting rid fungus and have been treating him and he is looking a lot better now. I have the salt content in my tank at about 1tbs per 5 gallons ( i have read many articles that say this is safe salt concentration for BN and other bottom feeders) to help with my carpintis but he doesn't seem like he is doing any better and he is hiding all the time. Again the other fish seem to be doing really well nothing has changed in their characteristics and activities and the water is perfectly clear now. I've been testing my water and it's perfect with 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and 5ppm nitrates.

I guess the next step is getting antibiotics but i'm still not sure if it's a bacterial infection or what.

Well last update. The BN died today. It was really sad his fungal infection went away but i guess he was being picked on by my other cichlids. I never really saw this but he never seemed to feed and just stayed in the same place. So i'm not sure what i'm going to do about getting another pleco
