well so far they're just hanging around. but i'm hoping that's sort of what they'll do. part of their function is to help spread stuff to all layers of a deep sand bad including the bottom-most layer. definitely need trumpet snails for the upper part. maybe i'll grab another batch of black worms if i see a lot of em burrowed in. wonder how much is enough..Do they help airate the substrate? I usually just feed them to my fish. lol
oh wow. i didnt bother to ask petland, just sort of walked right by it. would they have planaria, too?A lot of places in NYC seem to sell blackworms, perhaps most famously are all the Petland Discounts locations. The flatworm that comes with them are actually leeches, fairly common with them I've found. I usually end up with 5+ of them in a single souffle cup of blackworms.
And planaria will pretty much just show up wherever there's excess food.. annoying little pests those are.
