New Angel update: good and bad news plus some rookie questions

I've just posted on your other thread - so pleased to see they recovered!

Melafix contains tea tree oil, which is thought by many to damage the labyrinth organ of anabantoids. (Bettafix is a less concentrated version of the same but poses the same possible risk.) You might want to forego using it, since you have dwarf gouramis in your tank.

Bettafix is not actually a less concentrated version - it is exactly the same concentration in the water as Melafix. It is simply formulated for easier dosing in small volumes of water. Incidentally, there's also no evidence that Melafix harms anabantoids; this idea is only found on the internet.

Can you believe how fast these little critters can come back in just three weeks!?!

Wow! That first pic of the angel shocked me! But it's coming back greatly! Goodwork.

Angel-ina Jolie.JPGIt's been over a year now, and both of my lace angels are doing well. However, the yellow one has sported over-sized lips for a good 6-9 months now. Either I have in my possession a rare Angelina-Jolie fish, or something is not quite right. The fish appears to be in no great pain or distress, but I am curious as to how this has happened. Was this do to it's near-death experience of its youth?
