Fish Picks for 29 Gallon Tanks

Hi Y'all

I just set up my 29gal tank and I'm thinking of where I want to go
with it. Eventually this is the list of inhabitants I would like to
get...

I now have;
7 Neon Tetras
4 Creamsicle Mollies

I eventually want to add;
6 Silver-tip Tetras
6 Scissorfish Rasboras
4 Longskirt Black Tetras
4 Hatchets
3 Lyretail Guppies

Just crossed-off the list;
Serpae Tetras - because the are aggressive and fin nippy
Swordtails - live-bearing can get out of control, and the males are
the only one with the cool swordtails and you can only have 1 male for
2-3 females

I am quite a ways away from this point but I wanted to throw this out
there to get some input. Too much? Caution with fin nipping?
Live-bearing problems (I do not want fish to breed)? Schools too
small?

With that list you might be a little overstocked!

Put your tank dimensions into this http://www.aqadvisor.com then add your stock and it'll give you accurate idea as to where things stand.

Couple of questions. Firstly have you cycled your aquarium. And secondly, have you thought about adding a clean up crew?

I would put "accurate" and "stocking" in the same sentence because most stocking options are purely from opinion. Though aqadvisor is a great place to start, always double check with the more knowledgeable people.
 
If I were you, I would raise my school of neons to maybe 10 or 12 and then add a group of maybe 5 cories for the bottom. If your substrate is dark then albinos would look great with your brightly colored fish.
 
you should replace something on your list with some sort of bottom dweller
maybe cories or some shrimp?
also your fish will be more comfortable and entertaining if you get more of the same type of fish rather than a bunch of different ones
 
It could work but i would cut it down a bit. If it were me, id get rid of the Black Skirt Tetras and Lyretail Mollies and add a few cories and call it done.
