He is trying to tell you he LIKES SAND. LOL
He's also looking for food, I fed them right before I started taking pictures. I am hoping to switch it to sand eventually.

Beautiful!!! I got the boring brown kuhlis when I got them. No other choices at the LFS. I'd have been all over such beautiful kuhlis like yours in a heartbeat! 
We've been getting them more frequently than we use to. When I saw that my LFS had them I definitely made sure to rush in and not wait just in case they sold out.
Love the grassy look! Is that sag or what? I have something similar on one half of my tank, using crypt crispatulas. Nice to see another tank that's not exactly manicured.
