All the pictures came out blurry for some reason but I am sharing anyways! These pictures are taken from my 33 hex which is "resting", that means I torn it apart and have random bits of stuff thrown in. :D

Just to show how nicely colored my old ember tetras are!

Almost shows how fantastically colored my new rummynoses are, they REALLY colored up alot within 1 day of adding them to this tank from QT.

ID those fish! The one towards the bottom left (black spot on tail fin) and the one in the upper left (single line down his body)

This one has the single lined fish just below dead center

I wish I took better pictures because none of those pictures do my white clouds any justice, they are so beautiful! I am really impressed with my rummynoses too.

My new ember tetras & panda cories in QT, still working on their colors be patient.

Your pics are not bad at all!! Very nice.

Thanks everyone.

Nice pics! Those rummies are especially excellent!

I think your first mystery fish is a dawn tetra/aphyocharax paraguayensis.

The single-line fish is I think glowlight tetra/hemigrammus erythrozonus.

Both of those were my guess too but they don't quite match. The possible dawn tetra has NO color on any of it's fins besides the tail fin (I noticed that it looks like it does in that picture though but it is just the background) & it's anal fin is not as pronounced as the dawn tetra also it is over 2" a bit bigger than the dawn tetra. The possible glowlight tetra is a very slender, it does not have that bump on the bottom (like were the organs are) but I think it might just be very deformed or something because besides it's overall body shape it looks just like a glowlight. Very possibly hybrid, over breed fish too.

Nice pics. (I've been there done that with pics.)

It appears your living by the multi edge sword. Your plants look great your fish are in motion so they are blury. What you have to do is raise your shutter speed but if you don't have enough lighting it will make your photos dark which means you'll have to raise your ISO as well. If you find fish are still out of focus at different depths in the tank then you have to increase you F/stop or aperture to increase your depth of field which if you see your pics getting darker again increase your ISO again. With every increase of ISO the pic looks grainy so goes the multi-edge sword.

For practicing shutter speeds I'd take pictures of the bubbles from a box filter to see the effects of shutter speed and ISO.

For practicing depth of field (DOF) try taking pictures of diffterent object slightly staggered focusing in different areas the higher you go you may need to increase ISO but more of the tanks deep is in focus. The lower you go more thing before and after your focus area are blured.

Then you can combine adjusting all three shutter, aperture, and ISO of course this is assuming your camera lets you make the adjustments.

If I remember correctly my Fishy Pics went as high as ISO1600/shutter 125 because the fish were moving to quick for slower shutter speeds. With smaller pix sizes the grainy doesn't look so bad but is bad at the larger pics. The Shrimp on the other hand may have been at ISO 800/shutter 60 if I would've gone higher I would've gotten the whiskers too. Because I was focusing on just 1 the DOF didn't matter.

I'm just trying to pay it foward I'm still learning luckily I've gotten good advice from published photographers who don't mind me bugging them...LOL (I'm still limited by my equipment compared to what they have access to like L series lenses.)

I don't think we are looking at the same pictures but thanks guys! :)

Jay...Uhhh, what? :p: Thanks for all the advice, I know I can adjust those setting on my P&S I just have to figure out how!! Usually when I set it to sport I get good clear photos (hence my comment about blurry photos) but they tend to be dark, even with 110 PC watts over the tank. So yeah just like you are saying and yes I just copied everything you said into a word document! :D

I have taken some decent pictures with my P&S on AUTO and I know there is a way to see what settings the camera choose but I don't remember how, anyone know?

The white clouds look very happy! I'm glad they avoided the disaster the rest of my fish have faced!
