so im going on vacation in about a month. we go for a week or a little more than a week. anyway i just want to make sure im getting everything right. ill be doing a 50% water change on all tanks the day before i leave. i will swish around my media in old tank water. im adding some filter floss today to give more surface area for bacteria and to remove more particles from the water. i will get my grandpa to feed everyother day. mostly for my juvenile fish and my frogs and crayfish(so he doesnt eat my fish). anything else i should do?

Portion the food out in seperate bags/containers and give specific instructions not to feed more despite how much the fish beg for more. I would even go to a reduced feeding plan just to limit waste, maybe every third day. Also have him check tank temps and that the filters are running.

Was gonna say what he did. I don't usually feed my fish at all when on vacation. Even juvies can go 7-10 days without an issue.

what about frogs? ive read they can only miss a day or so, and i cant put their brine shrimp in a baggie. also wouldnt he crayfish be more aggressive if he isnt feed?

Forgot about the frogs...yes they would be an issue. I really can't speak to the cray. I have never kept them. Sorry. I would just be exremely specific about the very spare amount of feeding that you ask others to do.

well 3 tanks can have decap baby brine shrimp which has a scoop. then i can do the rest of the tanks with baggies that have the days to feed, and i could go and get some frog pellets for the frogs.
