First marine tank stocking. Mini Caribbean bio type

Wondering if a jaw fish, chalk bass, maybe a small wrasse, 1-2 small shrimps could work in a 34g(red sea max). A mini Caribbean bio type is what i'm going for.
I'm guessing that any other goby or blenny could be a problem with the jaw fish correct? I would like a hawkfish but i know they can be a risk with a shrimps and small fish. I know i would need a lot of sand for the jaw fish. i was thinking of doing a pvc frame to hang/stabilize live rock. May thinking same shrooms and sea fans in the furture. thanks suggestions welcome
 
Ok, say a yellowhead jawfish you should be able to get away with keeping a fairly peaceful blenny or goby. Not sure about a wrasse suggestion atleast as far as reef safe ones I don't know of any from the carribean all pacific/indian as I recall. Also depending how small the shrimp are jawfish may eat them, yellowheads are probably the shrimp safest. Peppermint or CB shrimp would be safe from your fish but both types can sometimes be dicks.
 
Blenny maybe but I think you're going to have issues with a sand dwelling goby sharing a foot print that size. Don't use PVC (IMO). Put the rocks on the glass and put the sand around them. The bottoms of the rock are not flat so they will make natural caves for the jawfish to call home. Do make sure you offer a variety of sand grains fro the jawfish. Mostly a fine (not sugar) to medium grain with a little larger stuff mixed in for building. Othwise, sounds like a great stock list for a RSM.
 
Greech's probably right about the goby issue, went and looked up the spec's its a smaller foot print then I thought, for some reason I thought it was like 30 x 16 not biocube sized. You could do like a clown goby but thats not carribean native.
 
I dream of having a yellow headed jaw fish, from my research they need both fine and coarser grained sand to build their burrows.

why not use PVC hang the live rock? I was planning to have some on the bottom and also some buried. I was thinking i could use the PVC to suspend some flatter live rock like shelves. Any other additions or subtractions to the stock list?
 
PVC can depend on personal preference really. You can make a more natural flow by doing the same thing with smaller pieces of rock though. Take a flat rock and glue/epoxy on some smaller rock in the same way you would have done the PVC and you have something that works the same way and keeps the natural look and feel.
 
Are all marine rock epoxy similar or are they ones to stay away from? Finding flat LR could be a problem correct? My LFS sucks and the online stuff i have seen does not really specialize in LR in different shapes. Any where special to look? Can i use other non rock materials like large shells to make shelves?
