Hello and I just set up 5 tanks in my parents loft upstairs and right away my mother seems to get on me about how much the bill will be, even tho i use natural lighting and just two air filter pumps. Since i live at home (college student) i was wondering does anyone know how much these little suckers consume? I doubt it is a lot. hope not

Depends on the efficiency of the pump in question. I'd recommend hitting up the manufacturer's site and checking the tech specs. It should have power consumption listed there.

I agree.

I can tell you not a lot. Throw them $10 a month and maybe she will be happy. Haha.

I've got a Top Tin air 3000 pump on my 29g. It runs a sponge bubbler and a box bubbler. It's a higher output pump with twin outlets. It consumes a whopping 3.5 watts. You're talking pennies a day if that.

High output lighting and heaters draw the most juice, but even that is not much.

It uses about as much electricity as an alarm clock. You're looking at a few cents/month. Yes, you read that right.

p.s. if only i had a bigger room haha i think i am addicted as i have 11 tanks in one room hahaha oops. well one is a tortoise tank
