one of the newer members, Halo, has several sailfin and other plecos. The largest ones will actually ignore food in favor of getting nose rubs, and when they get their share of petting, they will eat of out his hand.
Is this another Myth??

mykidsmylife- they make now rubber landing nets that are 100% more fish friendly than the cheaper, more traditional string type nets. Also, remember that if a fish swallows a hook, just cut the leader. Most hooks will harmlessly rust out in a week or two, the exception being stainless steel hooks which should be avoided. Another option is to try a "circle hook", I've never had a fish gut a circle hook.
Shall this go in the Mythconceptions thread? I think it shall. Hope you guys don't mind if I use a few of your comments.

He would always brag that his "girlie girl" would bait her own hook, and take the fish off! I drew the line one day when I caught a snake though
I have never tried a circle hook either. I will have DH check into these on his next trip to the sporting goods store. Thank you!
