I've been toying with an idea for a simple false-back style filter like what you see in reef aquariums, but for a low water line paludarium. I'd like to do something like the attached picture, but wonder if it's asking too much of the foam. I know I'd be fine if the water was passing straight through the foam, but worry it wouldn't be effiencient or would clog when asking it to travel through the foam the long way. I'm considering using Poret for this application. It will be filtering less than 8 gallons of water.

Thoughts from your esperience?

I'm not sure I understand what you have there?
I didn't, but then thought I did, but I didn't, but then thought maybe I do? So I'm still not sure.

If the top pic is a Side View. And the Blue is water. So that means the the whole thing is sealed shut, except for the the Light Green?
