Progress shots

Plants have had a while to grow in, and I've added a few plants and some new ones, 3 anubias nana(s) and another sword sp. Thought I'd post some progress shots.

Thanks.

WOW - that is a beautiful tank and stand - can't wait to see it once the plants have grown some and you get all the fish in it you want. Man two thumbs up!!

Update shots

Just a new shot of the growth so far for those interested. Still battling black hair algae, making adjustments to the CO2, lights, and ferts. Trying to find the right combination. Thinking of adding a CO2 drop checker to comfirm my calculations. Based on pH and kH, I'm right there with a CO2 of 27-30 ppm. Guess we'll see, maybe I'll DIY one and check for sure. On to the update...

If nothing else, the water is more clear and I take a more level picture now. Thanks for following. The black hair algae battle rages on...

Keep on the BBA and it will improve. I was battling it awhile back and just decided to trim pretty much near anything i could see it growing on. Woe to the leaf that let that stuff attach. Pushed my CO2 up as high as I dared with my livestock and I've begun to see improvement. New growth coming back and no BBA explosion.

Update shots 7-19-11

Here are a few quick photos from my 125 gallon planted tank. The growth has been great, and I think I've got the BBA on the run. Still there, but looking better. I started dosing ferts about 3 weeks ago using the PPS-PRO method, turned up the CO2, continued with 20% weekly water changes, and turned the lighting period down to 7 hours. Seems to have helped tremendously. Getting closer to balanced. Lots of good advice in threads out there.

Here a few shots of the residents. I've got 3-4 snails that I can see, don't remember adding those! Free ride on plants I guess. They're interesting and not overwhelming so far. May become my next problem as I keep finding more of them.

Planning on adding a small school (4-6) of angelfish now that I'm not being overrun by BBA. Thanks for following along. David

How did I miss this thread? I just commented on your other thread (photo gallery), incredible tank and build! The african root wood is very different, looks great in your tank. What dosing regime are you using? Your tank is still fairly new, once it settles in, I'm sure the algae will be a site of the past. Tagging along, hoping you'll keep this thread current.
