The color of the corals are neat. I noticed you didnt have any pics of fish, are there any in the tank?
Hi Scott,
The only fish in the tank are a couple of triplefins....real common, and don't bother the anemones,or the hermit crabs.I have plenty of glass shrimp in the tank too....and they leave them alone...most fish would have eaten them as soon as they were put in the the water!

About the whole condensation scare... Sleep easy, would-be coldwater reefers, the whole big condensation threat is so exaggerated. Even in the article on coldwater marines in this month's FAMA it is mentioned as a big "con" to keeping temperate aquaria. I have never heard anyone who actually has kept a temperate aquarium complain of this insidious phenomenon. I have kept a number of coldwater tanks (one was a typical glass aquarium maintained at under 55F in a rather humid wet-lab) without a droplet to freak out about. Can you believe it?

Man, I've just gotta say it again, I really dig your tank. Do you have any other pictures of your triplefins?
Thanks again for a great post.

Very "cool" tank!
Having snorkeled myself in inlets in Florida I can tell you he is not kidding about being swept out to sea. When I went we had 2 boats on standby to keep an I on the family members who were diving.

Some more coldwater marine tank inhabitants.

Thanks for the comments....the triplefins are proving difficult to photograph well,so here's a few more of the tanks inhabitants...notice the anemone with it's internal stinging cells extended....presumably clearing an area around itself...similar behaviour to certain corals,(they are, after all, distantly related).I have had to move it to a clear area as it's already killed a few "jewels" that were nearby!

wow, sooooooooooo pretty. I mean really, all the tropical tanks I see are gorgeous too, but something about the cold water corals, just makes me think ooooooo preeeetteee. They're just so delicate and soft and pretty. Keep the pics coming!
