Wondering how safe it is to buy ghost shrimp at Walmart for a community tank, some of their shrimp look healthy, but others have a cloudy yellowish appearance. I'm running low on ghost shrimp in my tank... two of them were pregnant but the one died (currently trying to artificially hatch the eggs in a hang-on nursery tank, I don't expect much but its worth a shot) the other seems to have laid hers already. My lfs is kind of far to just pick up some ghosts so if I could get them from Walmart it would be very convenient.

Edit: I dont plan on purchasing these as feeder shrimp, but as actual inhabitants of my aquarium

I don't believe inverts can carry the ich parasite, but I'd try to minimize the water transfer from the walmart fish bag to your tank.

Agree..take drive ..or at least quarantine your ghosts at least a month before introducing to your tank,..no fair taking a giant gamble if no quarantine.

I bought from there a while back and some of my fish started dying right after I introduce them in my tank. Beware!!!
