I believe this is a salvinia species, a type of water lettuce. I got it from a lfs a month ago, and it is just growing crazy. I now have the top of a 18"x30" tank covered from edge to edge with it. $5.00 for a 5x5 group shipped. If want different amount PM me.:)

How much lighting does it require? I have a tank that I would probably like to put it in, but it's fairly low wattage.

I have it in 2 different tanks currently, and 1 is high one is medium light. It does well in both, but grows quite faster in high light.

I have a 10 gallon with 20 watts, think it would be enought light for them? Is there a way to contain them to one side of the tank? I wouldn't want it to totally overrun my tank and block the light for my other plants.

Your lighting is sufficient, and I think at that level it shouldnt get to "out of control". I dont have any ideas right now on containing them. Im sure someone here does though.

As long as it doesn't grow too fast I can always just take some out and be taking out nitrates. Now I've talked myself into it. PM headed at you. :-)

Ok, Ive now also got some glossostigma(sp?) its a strip about 2"x10" solid. This is enough to start a serious foreground. I used about this much to "seed "my 180g foreground. This one is more $ though. 10$ shipped, paypal.

I'll take it if you haven't sold it yet.
