I read up on the other posts about spot-like diseases on people's fish and I think I've ruled out ich but I don't know if this is lymphocytis or a fungal disease, if the picture isn't too clear, it's a powdery sort of soft grey spot along its body, it hasn't caught on to any other fish but I recently introduced two rams that I hope aren't susceptible. I haven't seen it rubbing itself against surfaces and it seems to be breathing OK. (The one above is Tap, he kept on moving out of focus but Cherry wasn't camera-shy)

Umm... I should have said this before, it's the one on the top with the disease thing, I didn't just take a picture of my fish =S, I was going to edit the post to put that in but I couldn't edit my original post.

I have a book which identifies the symptoms of ich and velvet and it doesn't really seem to look like those, I'm also trying to phone through to my LFS but can't get a hold. It doesn't really seem to fit into a diagnosis of ich "Small white pustulates that look like grains of salt covering the body and fins. The spots are uniform in size" or velvet "Yellow brown or grey looking dusting on the body area. most noticable around the Dorsal fin area. Fish are panting and scratching" so that leads me to think it may be a fungal disease =(

It's all good

I took it to the LFS, they said it was ich and they gave me some malachite green to sort it out, thanks for your help
:dance2:

i would of gussed it was velvet and told you to treat with heat and salt.

Your catfish wont do so good with meds because its scaleless.

I've been trying to get to that site!~ That's the first time the link has worked and using that for ID it's definitely ich. I had already turned up the temperature to 82 degrees fahrenheit when I saw the spots and that helped them die down but when they came back I figured I should do something more about it, hence the malachite green. As for the salt, my LFS told me it wouldn't be necessary and I trust them. Here's hoping the symptoms don't persist...
