My pond snail is frequently going up to the top of the tank as if he/ she were trying to get out.... Any ideas?

Probably just grazing algae off the glass, but have you tested your water lately and made sure what your ammonia, nitrite and nitrates are? Some snails will head for the surface if the water quality is bad.

What kind of snail? Some breathe air from the top.
