I noticed a raised white growth on the right corner of the mouth of one of my painted tetras. It almost looks like a white head it does not look cottony. No other spots or growth are on him he eats and swims around fine. Water parameters are fine. Should I just watch it the last couple of days no change in the growth. Wondering what it could be?

This sounded to me like lymphocystis because this is common in dyed glassfish but I'm not certain of it. And if it indeed is, I'm afraid there is no cure to this unfortunately.

Ok I found a pic of the fish and the growth it almost looks like a white skin tag. The fish that is affected is the first one in the pic have to look real close it is located at the right corner of his mouth. Wondering what this could be he is acting and eating fine. The growth has not changed. I am stumped as to what it is and what to do leave it alone how to treat it?:help:

It isn't ich because fins and rest of body of the fish are fine. Will just have to see how it goes and watch the fish I guess.

Have you isolated it? Isolation is required in your situation.

No I didn't isolate the fish did some reading about lymphocystis and the info says it is not necessarily contagious to the other fish. I don't see anything on the fins of the fish and the growth has not changed hasn't gotten bigger or smaller the fish eats well so I am just going to wait and watch if things change will definitely isolate.
