What would cause the vein in the tip of one leaf of one sword (out of two in the tank) to turn red?

Just in case anyone is interested, that leaf has basically died. Become very weak and almost sucked into the filter intake. I cut it out today. The rest of the plant is fine.
Next time you see a discolored leaf, or leaf color getting light or damaged, disengage it right away. Don't wait! 2-3 new leaves within 2 weeks. I have a rather large sword and every month I take 7-9 leaves off. Never not have enough leaf. New baby leaf grows quickly on most established swords.
