WTF. I went to 3 stores and they all had a sign posted that said Koi had been banned by the Wildlife Protection Agency in the state of Connecticut.
Why would they ban these fish? Anyone know what prompted this ban? The salespeople were no help when I asked about it.

OK. Found out why the ban is in place. It's just temporary to prevent the spread of Spring Viraemia of Carp (SVC) which has been showing up in shipments that contained infected koi. This disease is deadly to all FW fish and easily transmitted.
