Here are some pics of my 55 gallon.

I've had this particular setup for about 4 years, with the only major changes being fish. It used to be a gourami/rasbora/cat tank, but I recently had to move so I now have a light load consisting of:

--12 Harlequin rasboras
--5 wag platys
--3 Corys (photogenic little guys)
--4 small Silver Dollars
--1 4 year old Pleco
--2 Rainbow Sharks (don't flame yet:grinyes: , I have kept two of these in the same tank very successfully for a long time. I keep territory for both of them, and they mingle with all the other tankmates without a quarrel)

I use a HOB on this tank, change filters every 14 days, do weekly changes of about 30%, vacuum my gravel, and my water stays great. Regular disciplined maintenace goes a VERY long way. I use artificial plants because I don't have the time to devote to live ones, but I try to do it tastefully.

Anyway, I hope you like the pictures, and any comments are welcome. Thanks, and let me know what you think. If you guys would like to see more or have questions just let me know~

(P.S. My Corys seem to come right over when I get the camera out for some reason, so that's why I have all the pics of them posing! lol)

Yeah, I've definitely thought about that. I guess I've just been hesitant because I don't know much about keeping them. My water is also WAY hard (for my water changes I add distilled to even it out a little). I've read quite a few of the posts about starting (the DIY CO2 was very interesting) with live plants, but I guess I just wish I knew somewhere to find good solid info for a beginner. I'm an experienced fishkeeper, but just not with plants :) Probably ignorance on my behalf (and a little part of me not wanting to have a shabby-looking tank which often happens when people don't put effort into plants). One thing I can say about it is that some of you guys with the lush planted tanks really do a good job.

Thanks again for the compliments and feel free to comment!
