Can anyone Id this stuff on my drift wood plz? I wash it off with tap water then after a while it would come back. What causes this stuff to go on my drift wood? How do i get rid of it? Should i just take out the drift wood from my tank and throw it away? Pics will be up in a few min. Plz help!

its not a fungus.. its normal. leave it alone and it will go away.

:iagree:

How'd you treat it before placing it in your tank? A long boil should lesson or eliminate that (I forget the actual term).

YAY its not fungus!! I was staring to think it was fungus. I just droped it in my turtle tank and i didn't boil it. In how long do you think it will go away?

Let it grow.

I have LFS 'bogwood' in my tank, but I also have several 'sticks' that I gleaned from a clean lake. All my catfish love gnawing on the crap that grows on the wood. During water changes, I move a few sticks from my non-cat tank to the the cat-tank and vice-versa. The cat fish eat the stuff that has accumulated on the sticks.
I say, if no one is sick, the more life, the better. As far as fungus, plant fungus shouldn't hurt animals...the fungi want different hosts.
