Here is the tank cycled, a few more plants, pond and ramshorn snails getting established and fish! Originally was going to start with 12 black skirt tetras. But came home from the fish store with 6 black skirt tetras, 6 neons, and 6 coral platys. Also added some handblown glass decorations. Let me know what you think!

Great start! What did you use for substrate? And are you using CO2 or any sort of fertilizer for the plants?
And I agree with HN that a black background would be neat -- the neons and platys would really stand out. :thumbsup:

Hooked Newbie, Thanks, I was relieved the planaria disappeared so quick. Right now I have that black board propped up behind the tank, just happened to have it laying around and its a similar size as the stand, a big improvement over the white wall behind it. The filter is still visible though and the lighting in the pictures was not the greatest. But I think eventually I may attach a glossy black film to the back of the tank.
irishspy, thanks for checking, I'm trying a bag of flourite poured in a layer under the gray gravel. Have also been adding flourish, and excel, just for about the past week or so. No co2 yet, but I did have my friend make me a handblown co2 drop checker. Haven't tried it yet since I don't have co2. But I also came up with another design for the glass co2 drop checker, can't wait to make one to see if it works.
rich311k, chunkylover817, thanks for the feedback. i'm really excited to have it started. I think I will have a celebration when the plants finally do fill in. except it might be a while with my single 20w bulb.
however, you can be certain I'm on the lookout for higher intensity lights and co2 setups (and more tanks :evil_lol. Oh yea and I'm gonna pick up some nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, probably seachem brand if I can find some.
