I have an 8" clown knife fish, he is behaving very odd, hes just sitting there.
His head is grey looking and his eyes are super grey, He is sitting on the ground in the open with the light on no movement, nothing.

Hes been in this current setup now for about six months with a north american pumpkin seed as a tankmate. all my params are good, the pumpkin seed is doing great so i dont know, the only changes in my tank recently were that i did a water change 2 days before this and fed them some live gupps. whats going on?! i dont want to lose my fish and it seems hes on his last legs.

This all happened overnight HEEELLLLP:help::headbang2:

My trates are 20 ammonia 0 and trites 0 ph near 7 ( has remained constant) I have been feeding gupps about once a week, trying to vary the diet you know. I even recently got a 10 gallon tank for the gupps to qt in for a while before feeding. The ones i fed recently showed no signs of disease or anything out of the ordinary after about 2 weeks. Im stumped and i know a lot of medicines can harm a knife so i need help, i dont consider myself a newb so something unusaul has happend, The only thing i can think of is a disease from live food or some sort of contamination from the water change.

Just so everyone kn0ws who may want to help me, I water change about 30 percent once a week, i add conditioners and a small amount of liquid ferts for my swords. There arent to many variables here, just a water change and some live, and apparently healthy, guppys.

trying to get better pics but as you can kind of see his head has turned a white color and his eyes are much cloudier then normal...

Turns out to be columnaris and cloudy eyes to me. Cloudy eyes are a result of either infection due to injury on the eyes or poor water quality. What test kit are you using? At this rate, I'd suggest increasing your tank maintenance frequency by doing water changes thrice a week instead of weekly. As for columnaris, what is your temperature right now? I find columnaris to progress better when temperature is warm. If you can lower it by 26 degrees Celsius, this might help intervene with the progress. The fish must be isolated immediately before your pumpkinseed can contract it as well. It's contagious and should be contained in the hospital tank unless there is a mass outbreak.

Use either Furan or Jungle Fungus Eliminator but be sure to remove your carbon (if any) before treating with meds. Carbon, anyway, is useless unless you intend to remove medications, tannins and other contaminants. Be sure that your water parameters are up to your expectations when you treat with meds.

By the way, you might want to discover that livebearers are prone to columnaris.

Get the Nitrates down - they are scaleless fish and cannot withstand these types of levels.

I would do a 50% WC immediately.

the pumpkinseed developed a few little spots on him, I did a water change and added a small amount or mela and pima and they look a lot better no spots, the cloudiness on the knifes eyes and head are gone but hes still acting the same...the pumpkin isnt aggressive twords my knife but when he eats he's intense.
