catfish question

my LFS got in a really cool looking catfish today, it was sold to them as a whiptail catfish, but after looking it up, it's not a whiptail. i don't think it has a sucker for a mouth, and it has a wide, flat light brown body. one of the tail spines (can't remember which one)is very long, almost as long as the body itself. anybody have a guess with this? otherwise, i'll try and get a pic somehow. it's a frickin awesome catfish.
 
maybe a banjo cat, shorter than whiptails, and of course a different family. But picture would help.

i think you can kinda see the long "thread" coming off his tail. it's about as long as his body

he doesn't move much.
 
Dam that thing is weird! I'd buy it. :thumbsup: No idea on the name tho...
 
That catfish I have no idea what it is.:help2: Not Sturisoma, not banjo. Have you posted this in other catfish forums for vast array of views?
 
cool fish! but it i dont think him in the same exact spot not moving at all for all those pics is a good thing.. :X lol
ive never seen anything like that guy
