diy canopy 29g w/light

I decided to maybe make my 29g tank a canopy to hold the lighting i plan to put in it. I have looked at some of the diy on the forum here but no one seemed to actually include the measurements that they used.
For now im trying to measure out the dimensions of the tank and see if i can determine the measurements for the canopy by myself.. but that can take a while so heres were your help comes in.. Does anyone have any place where i can get info on the actual layout of the canopy? with measurements? that would help alot.

After hours of brain stabbing tracing and erasing and measuring, heres the plan (thanks jmhart for sharing some info)

The Canopy will be Painted a glossy black color to match the stand.
Im sure i am missing something but at the moment cant figure out what.. will update as soon as theres progress.
 
Just don't do what I did...and leave an unfinished wood top over a tank...it warped within a month. Finish all sides, whether poly or paint...I'd use primer first if you are painting.
