My 55 gallon tank currently has a juvenile discus, sub-juvenile, and a sub-adult discus, and...silver dollars 3 1/2 inches..! Yes, i made a bad decision on getting discus, my water suddenly began producing LOTS of nitrite repeatedly (0.50) and wow, i have never had a issue like this in my whole fish-keeping life! I don't know if i can keep up! So yeah, i am deciding to remove all of my discus, get a good amount of refund, and find some other fish. I'm thinking neon tetras, I have never owned and have any experience with them, if you guys can share your thoughts, opinions, and experience with neon tetras with me, id totally appreciate it!!Introduce me some new variety fishes that will perfectly fit my 55 gallon with my current fish!I absolutely do not want teh statement "the tank's overcrowded" anymore~! :headbang2: This time, I'm gon play by the healthy safe side. And any ideas to make my tank look more bright, vibrant and pretty would be appreciated. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! :D Here's my current fish in my 55 gallon.

I didn't know your tank is that tall. Discus will benefit better than the silver dollars. The bamboo may or may not survive.

so the silver dollars and pleco are staying too?
Yeah

The bamboo's been there for like 2 weeks. Will probably live a few months perhaps then die... My silver dollars can live in my 55 gallon peacefully........... can't they? Please tell me that my 55 gallon like that is okay for my SD's x_x Im gonna crack down if that size tank is not suitable for them :lipssealedsmilie:

Silver dollars do love plenty of swimming space. Yours may seem fine though the longer the tank the better. The other issue is their boisterous activity which can stress out the discus. Tetras are much better in comparison to silver dollars.

in keeping with the south american discus, I'd get just 1 big school of some tetras. I think it would be fun to watch.

Um..Something that will be good with my silver dollars haha.. :grinyes:............. I have a bad bad feeling about this...something fishy that just tells me everyone thinks that my 55 gallon is looking quite a tad bit small for my SD's even??!?!..... :headshake2:

*sigh* Great...
