Nothing bad, don't worry. They're all still doing great. I've decided to go ahead and take all the damsels and the Lunare Wrasse in to my LFS though. He's gorgeous, but I just can't stand the tank with the complete lack of color and critters that it will be with him in there. NO motile inverts? That includes anemones, right? I know there are other wrasses that I like just as much that can be included in a reef tank, so I think I'll just have to evict him. Kindof sad, but it will be a while before hubby lets me spend anymore money (apparently) so I won't be doing anything with that 55 for a while yet.

Hubby was complaining about why do we have to take back the starfish and the wrasse too and I said "well, if you like the way the tank looks right now, with just a pile of rocks and a bunch of fish, then leave it the way it is. But if you want color and life, then we need to take these fish and stars out." He agreed.

Gawd, what is it with men and their need to have oversize fish that eat everything in sight? He'd have a tank with one frickin Oscar in it if I'd let him. I'm the one that does ALL the cleaning, feeding, caretaking and maintenance for these fish and tanks, so I think I should get to decide what to do with them. :silly:

What should I get when I take in the damsels and the wrasse? That will just leave the Foxface in there by himself. Can I get a dwarf angel, if they have one I like? Or a jawfish or goby?

Thanks!

I didn't get the Angel yet because I can't decide if I want a Flame Angel or a Coral Beauty or this other type he had that was from Hawaii, I forget the name. Gorgeous though! I know I have to commit to just one, so I'm thinking about it.

Today I got 2 golden head gobies that were palling around in the tank at the store together and 1 tiger sleeper goby! He was also in the tank with them. Maybe I got a mated pair!!!! Wouldn't that rock?! Do they even breed in captivity? I have to read up. They're adorable!

I also bought a beautiful purple encrusted rock that is covered in green mushrooms!!! And a teeny rock that had one little green mushroom on it!

AND, I got a Hydor Koralia 600!!! Wa-Freakin-HOO!!!

I'll post some pictures in my journal thread soon!! SO happy with my decision to take those other meanies in. I have SO many more options for my tank now!!!!

I'm off to stare now!

:hypnotized:

oooooo you might have gotten a mated pair of Golden Headed Sleeper Goby's.. I have one in my 75 but can't risk a second because they don't like their own kind.. So if yours were paling around.. maybe... possibly.. I'm jealous anyway..

they might be!!! They not only pal around, they stick together constantly! I'm so glad I got both of them! The way they were swimming together in the store, I couldn't split them up. YES! They stay in the same burrow they've picked in the tank and snuggle next to each other!!!! EeEEEEEE! Do you think they might make babies???? Omgomgomg! :headbang2:

OK, deep breath! Off to do water tests!!!! Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Went to look them up on marinedepotlive.com and yes! That's them!

And this is what my other little guy looks like. The guy at my LFS said it was a tiger sleeper goby, but apparently it's an Orange Diamond Goby and he needs a little pistol shrimp for a buddy!

I'm so excited!

And Foxface seems to be a happy guy and all my little hermits are out and about now that no one is trying to eat them every time they poke out a claw. Hee! :mwave:

Golden Headed Sleepers are supposed to be jumpers... I had egg crate on the top of my tank for a while but have since taken it off.. He has never even looked at the top of my tank.

Woohoo! I love when I get a cycle that I didn't have to work for. Hee!

Tank Parameters:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20
PH: 8.2ish
SG: 1.024
Temp: 80 degrees F (and that's without a heater, gotta love Houston! Until summer, when I'm afraid my electric bill will skyrocket since I'll be running the A/C nonstop to keep my tanks below the boiling point:eek3:)

I added in a dose of Saltwater BioZyme and Amquel+ tonight after testing. When should I do a PWC? Can't do it this late, but the nitrates aren't too bad at 20 right? And I added Amquel.

Those green mushrooms look really cool under the actinic lights!

Where are my idols on here, Grins, Lupin? AT? I am eagerly awaiting your opinions and advice!
