Anemones in an 8-g biocube

All of the hosting anemones can and do get fairly large. You may be able to keep a small one for a couple of years if you have the proper lighting and the tank is kept stable enough. All of them will need a new home in 1 to 2 years. Also if kept in a small tank remember that they can harm other fish, so just an anemone and a clown would be all that I would suggest. Personnally with how anemones are so touchy concerning water quality I would not recommend them, the hosting anemones that is, in nano tanks. Flower anemones do look nice and remain 3-5 inches when full size. They would be a better choice, but they do not host.
Hope that this helps

Anemones (any type) are very sensitive to water quality and require a mature tank. Also, in a tank that size, you would only be able to keep an anemone and a clown. I wouldn't reccomend either. After you fill the tank with rock and sand, there are really only about 4 gallons. I would suggest a small goby or two, and only that.

Back to anemones: there is no guarantee that clownfish will host them. In fact, oftentimes, you will buy a specific coral/animal for a clownfish to host, and it ends up hosting a powerhead or mag-float.

Please consider not getting the clownfish or the anemone. An 8 gallon tank is WAY to small for either. You could get a clown goby or yellow watchman/pistol shrimp pair, which would be quite interesting.

me too. I have a sebae anemone that has quadrupled in size since I got it. And that has been in less than a year. I have a GBTA that has split 2 times also. I definately would not reccomend an anemone in an 8G.
