Magnetic Algae Scraper

I've had the same one for over a year, and it still works great. I use it once a week on both of my tanks. They're very inexpensive. Good luck !

Do magnetic algae scrapers work very well???

Magfloats work wonderfully well. Just make sure you get the right one. They have one for glass and one for acrylic.

Nope.... I've found they never get enough traction on the more common types of algae like green spot. I prefer to use the non-scratch kitchen sponges. With gentle circular movements that won't etch the glass, even stubborn algae comes off well.
i wqould be careful with kitchen sponges. all that i have seen say right on the package: "do not use in aquariums" or "not for aquarium use"

True, you have to be careful with the product you use. The non-scratch labeled blue kitchen sponges are actually made from the exact same material as the floating scrubbers and the algae pad scrubbers (trust me, we know guys in the biz :)). They are appropriate for glass only... acrylic etc. and you'll scratch for sure.

I bought a cheapo one that sucked. Switched to mag floats and I love em.
