I am a very capable, skilled and experienced wood craftsman. I have been doing it for 16 years. When i was 14 there was a summer vocational program that I was in and wood shop was my trade. I have been hooked ever since.

I bought my parents a 125 gallon long. My Mom asked me to build a stand so I designed one. She asked me to keep the budget Under $200. My Dad had many concerns about the weight. With a low budget and weight worries on my Dad's part so I beefed it up framing it with plenty of 2x4's. Giving him piece of mind, and being inexpensive kept the budget low too.
My Mom is an accomplished artist so she has lot's of ideas she wants to do. With that in mind, I just built it, she will finish it. Including all the sanding (thankfully). They have a finished basement and spend most of their time down there so the tank will be going down there as well.

So here it is unfinished and with bad cell phone pics.

Very simple and very nice. That white trim has to go though! You should put the plans on a sticky! I could use it for my 125 as well.

Good job!

Alan, I live in Chattanooga. How much would you charge me to build one just like that? (Unsanded/finished) I would come pick it up.

Thanks for the complement.
The trim is white because it is synthetic. Cheaper than wood than real wood. The stand will be painted so the white won't show when finished. I asked my Mom before I started what finish she wanted. If she had wanted it stained, I would have used real wood of course. But since she is going to paint it and asked me to keep the cost down I went the cheaper route.

If you are serious PM me. We may be able to work something out.

Nice stand. I find I like cabinets withe lower doors having maximum width and opening to make it easier to get canisters in and out. Also, try putting some kitchen cabinet sliding shelves in them. Just food for thought.

Me too. It especially helps if you decide to use a sump. Very Nice Btw! :)
