I decided to go ahead and make that DIY fixture and added another 56 watts to the 65 watts from the coralife fixture. This all for my 40 hex. Then I went to petco and bought one of those cheap co2 setups by Jungle (much like a DIY setup). I did all this within the last 4 days, and my plants are growing like crazy already. Before I did all this, my wisteria looked like poo with the broad leaves and now it's getting those beautiful lace like leaves. Oh, and my java moss is out of control now. I'll probably post some pics tomorrow. Thanks for all the awesome advice everyone! I couldn't have done it without you.

Welcome to the obsession.:)

Just kidding, that's great news. It wasn't too long after starting DIY C02 that It became really cumbersome for me to keep up the mixtures. I had to go pressurized! I like results of C02 too much. It's like going from dial up to a T1 line:)

OMG! I am obsessed!:eek3: I'm going to wait a little while on getting a pressurized sys. I've been spending a lot lately and don't want my hubby cutting me off. But then again hes been talking of getting a 125 tank for oscars (which I'd end up taking are of) but that's a whole other post.

what i do is off set the cost of the equipment by selling some plants here and there like many other do. it pays for its self.

:iagree:

If I could find enough buyers for the growth rate I get I would be rich. kinda.. :flamed:

Co2 is the only way to grow!
