I made this for my Eastern Painted turtle, and then realized that I had made enough for an army of turtles. I'm hoping someone else would like some. All of my aquatic critters love the stuff---turtle, Endlers, zebra danios, pouch snails, and blackworms.

Each portion is 3 cups (1.25 pounds) and contains approximately:

2 cups dandelion green purée
1/2 cup red & green leaf lettuce purée
1/2 cup salmon purée (canned wild caught)
1 TBS RepCal calcium + vitamin D3 (no phosphorous)
3 packets Knox gelatin

5 portions available.

I also have one portion that is about 50% salmon and has a more even mix of dandelion and lettuce. This was the last batch I made with the ingredients I had left. The calcium and gelatin are the same. Let me know if you specifically want the meaty one.

The ingredients cost me about $4 per portion, and chopping and puréeing everything took quite a bit of time. I'd rather trade, but I suppose I could sell them for $10 each. I know that seems like a lot, but it's quite a bit of food and it's all good ingredients. Priority shipping for one portion is $4.95-8.70, depending on where you are. I'll freeze them before shipping. Payment options: PayPal (prefer non-credit card), personal check, money order.

Trades that interest me:
river rock, low-light plants, shrimp (prefer "wild type," not bright colors), small fish (no guppies), equipment (filter media, pumps, heaters, tanks... hey, you never know), something else...???

I don't know.. maybe you could find someone locally who can use it? If you freeze it solid, you can keep it for a long time. But if you freeze it then ship.. it's going to thaw out... and the buyer won't be able to freeze it again.

Rocker never explained the jaw-drop, but I'm going to go ahead and assume is was the dollar price. I can lower the dollar price, but I really would rather trade. Either way, if you are interested, please make an offer. I have to at least cover ingredients and shipping, and the stuff is worth something to me, but I'm not trying to make a ton of money on this.

...it's going to thaw out... and the buyer won't be able to freeze it again.

Why not? Worst case, you let it thaw, heat it up to re-melt the gelatin, let it cool to re-set, then refrigerate or freeze as you see fit. Wouldn't that work? Is there something I'm missing?

That would okay if it's reheated.. that's true. I have a lot of surplus equipment now that might include something you need... several filters, a nice auto-feeder, pumps, heaters, etc. Driftwood, petrified wood, a sand waterfall, decor... I'm stocking up on plants again too in another tank to keep them separate from everything in my main tank. I could PM you a list to see if anything interests you.

I'm sure my snails would like the recipe you followed.

Kashta - I'm definitely interested! Please do send me that PM.

PS: What is a "sand waterfall"?

It's a cheesy decoration that you fill up with dark sand, which falls downward to simulate the look of falling water when it's under water.

Something like this. Has a small pump inside.

It's in one of the boxes that came with the supplies I got with different tanks I've been buying. Still unopened, so I don't didn't pull it out yet. Not sure which waterfall decor piece it is without going to look at it again. If it's cute I might keep it, though, and set it up in a shrimp colony/moss tank. But there's a lot of supplies and equipment for me to rummage through.. plus all my own stuff that I'm not using. I haven't looked at anything yet. Still need to clean things up, test things to find out what works and what goes into the trash.. make sure different items don't have missing pieces.

Ahhh, I see. Not my kind of thing, personally, but I look forward to that list of other equipment and/or plants for trade! :)
